Excelsus Cabernet Franc



Wine-growing area

Vineyards located along the Grandlieu Lake. Light soils releasing the absorbed heat quickly. Our selections come more especially from St Philbert and St Aignan de Grandlieu.

Geological characteristic

Alluvial and clay sands on mica-schist subsoils.

Grape variety

100% Cabernet Franc.

Colour and alcohol content

Pale and bright pink, with very nice raspberry glints Alcohol : 12% vol.

Vinification process

Direct press so as to reach a frank and light colour. Fermentation in underground vats, under controlled temperature so as to preserve the fruit aromas. Then, fermentation is stopped so as to obtain a soft rosé wine. (residual sugars : 6 gr/l).

Technical parameters

Acidity : 4.30 gr/l – SO2 (free) : 35 mg/l (indicative analysis data).

Tasting notes

Expressive nose of spring fruits, with slightly spicy notes and a raspberry prevailing aroma. Frank and fresh tackle of the tongue, followed by a nice supporting structure and a fond softness. Harmonious Loire Valley style, fine and elegant.
